2011
Start of weight loss journey
“Jenny Craig is a no brainer for me.”
In late 2011, Mel B was extremely busy filming X-Factor in Sydney and with her three young children. Jenny Craig helped plan her days. Mel stated “Jenny Craig is a no brainer for me. I don’t have to think about anything. I get a coach; she does the thinking and the planning. I just eat and go. It’s perfect.”
2012
Halfway to goal
“Jenny and I are the perfect match.”
In January 2012, Mel B reached her halfway point towards her goal explaining “ I am so excited I’m halfway, being eight kilos lighter means I’m happier and healthier. Trying to lose weight on your own is tough, with three kids it’s even harder – mums know what I mean! Jenny keeps me motivated & driven.”
2013
1 year after reaching goal
“Jenny Craig helped me get back to how I was after having my last baby.”
12 months after reaching her goal Mel B was loving maintaining her weight and enjoying exercise again, “what I started doing is running on the treadmill and my favourite form of exercise is now with my kids, I just can’t help it – I have to dance with them!”
2017
5 years after reaching goal
“We’ve all got our own reasons to get healthy, mine was to keep up with my girls.”
5 years on, Mel B reflected on the reason that she started her weight loss journey, “It’s important to be a positive, healthy role model. Coming from my Girl Power background making sure my daughters have a healthy and positive body image is very important to me as a Mum.”
2021
9 years after reaching goal
“You need to make time for YOU, to put yourself first to be the best YOU can be.”
Post the COVID-19 lockdown Mel B revealed her secret to maintaining her weight through lockdown was “I wasn’t too hard on myself; lockdown is a lot to deal with without the added pressure of always staying fit and choosing the right foods. It’s so important to love your life and who you are – on your own terms.”
